On November 22nd, first- and second-year Hospitality Management students
went out to combine theory with practice to experience service firsthand in the real-world setting of the busy
Mexican restaurant Las Adelitas. They were shown how to mix drinks, prepare food,
serve guests and were explained how such a restaurant actually works from the perspective of the employees
. The students discovered that such an operation is not at all simple and that a well-thought-out
organization and system that the staff has among themselves is needed. It was possible to try serving and
also mixing drinks. This exceptional experience was also enriched by tasting Mexican
food and traditional cocktails.
