In practice, he has long been involved in international economic relations and foreign trade, including teaching, and then worked in the insurance industry. From 1995 to 2006, he served as Secretary General of the Czech Insurance Association. From 1995 to 2006 he was the chairman of the editorial board of the Pojistný obzor magazine and since 1997 he has been the chairman of the editorial board of the Pojistné rozpravy magazine. He has published 200 articles in both magazines and hundreds more in other magazines, including online media. His publications include monographs, dictionaries (eg English – Czech dictionary for insurance) and encyclopaedia for insurance.

He has been working at the University of International and Public Relations Prague (VŠMVVP) since the beginning of 2016. In his teaching activities, he focuses on the world economy (for example, the new global economic architecture) and European economic integration (fundamentals of EU functioning and EU financing). The following monographs were published at VŠMVVP: Essentials of the European Integration (2017), New global economic architecture (2019) and Global economic architecture in the 21st century (2022).
