PhDr. Alena Mrázová

French language professor

A doctor of philosophy, a translator, a writer and a university lecturer, graduated in Roman philology at Charles University and the universities in Lisbon and Dijon (1977–1982). In the years 1982–1986 she worked as a translator of a Brasilian company “Interbras“ in Prague (Service Administration of Diplomatic missions at the Diplomatic Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Later she worked as a journalist of a Portugese abroad broadcasting in CTK and the Czechoslovak Radio. In the years 1997–2002 she taught French at the Conservatory – grammar school “TCP – Prague Dance Centre“.

Since 1999 she has been cooperating with the Czech TV as an author of Czech subtitles and dubbing scripts of nearly 25 films for CT2 and CT Art. She is an author of fiction literature, translations, and textbooks. Since 2014 she has been participating in publishing art publications and organising exhibitions in close contact with Salon Maryška (Bohumín) and an international society “Złota Linia – grupa twórców różnych“ with its seat in Poland. Apart of that, several times a year she lectures as an expert on Portugal and France at the National Institute for Further Education at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
